The Beginning

Welcome to my shiny new blog!  I hope to use this space to document my running and food-related adventures in the Philadelphia area.  I am now just 11 short days away from my first half-marathon.  I know that I need to rest up in the week prior to the big event, so today I wanted to get in a decent run today.  Usually I prefer to run outdoors, but since it was drizzly today, I opted for the gym.  I ran 7 miles in 1:16:50, which was a 10:59 pace.  I’ve never been a fast runner, but that gives me something to work for in the future.  The goal for this race is just to have fun, and to finish.  I log all of my runs into the online training log at Runner’s World.   It’s a great way to keep track of your workouts, total mileage, and pace.  For instance, looking back, I found that the last time I did a 7 mile run, it was Sept. 23rd and my pace was 11:52- I am improving!
